Rolling out
Michael OHara
It's been an interesting week as we roll out our efforts to get the word out about the book.
I was to lead off with my first live radio interview Monday morning at 07:45 on a station in Philadelphia. I called in and was on hold until they were ready for me. I could hear the show as I waited. The host started talking about the book, announced the title and described it a bit, then led in with “With me here now is...”
And the line went dead. Silence. I waited a second, hoping it would come back. Nothing. So I hung up and called the studio number back. It went straight to voicemail. I hung up and tried this several more times. Kept getting voicemail. I knew that in Philadelphia, they were covering for me on the air.
About this time, I started getting texts from our publicist. He was listening and wanted know what was going on. I explained to him that it cut out and I couldn’t get back in. I kept trying but it was only a 15 minute spot and eventually I just gave up.
If you want to know what frustration feels like, be listening as you are introduced to thousands of people and then have no ability to speak or make them hear you.
My interview was rescheduled to this morning (Wed) and seemed to go off OK. At least, I had a conversation with the host. Whether anyone in radioland could hear us, I don't know.
Conroy had one interview live this morning. We have archived that on the media page. https://www.rabbitholeexperience.com/media/
He also recorded another interview and we are waiting to hear when that will air.
In the meantime, I am looking forward to my longer interview with Barb Adams this weekend.
